Unfortunately (in my opinion) there is a focus on sizzle and not steak. *Good* drama is *very* effective. The problem with all the focus on ‘video’ lately is that I think a lot of time is spent in editing suites instead of with the actors on camera. Everything’s so flashy, except the human being on camera too often is scanning their brain for lines, let alone connecting with me. But look – there’s a volcano in the background! How cool is that?!? The good thing is – I think the sizzle will run out of gas soonishly – can’t imagine it having the jam to carry on, bit of an ‘oz behind the curtain’ thing…in my opinion. Long live the theater! (and great session at Willow John, thanks.)
