I just finished Harry Potter #6 (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) after finally finishing Harry Potter #5 (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.) Amy told me I needed to finish the sixth book before we go to the movie tomorrow in case I were to overhear some plot spoiler, even though the movie is about the fifth book. So I spent an hour this afternoon and plowed to the end.
J.K. Rowling, hats off to you. These last two books have been fun reads, full of all sorts of off-the-wall, pull-a-rabbit-out-of-your-writer’s-hat magical shenanigans. Harry is a full-blown teenager by now, and “snogging” (making out) is everywhere, not to mention plenty of teenage frustration and angst. Well, the blogging universe doesn’t need another review of Harry Potter, but I’ll just add another stamp of approval here.
As I work on two separate stories simultaneously, I am acutely aware of the dangers and difficulties of plotting. I am amazed by people who seem to have this gift for interweaving story lines that unfold with incredible precision and logic. I hope to gather more skill in plotting as I go, but I doubt it will ever be second nature.
Amy’s ordered her copy of the seventh book, and I’m sure I’ll plow into it the minute she’s finished. In the meantime, we’ll have to make do with the latest film.

Becky is going to a midnight book release to get her copy of the new Harry Potter the night before we go to FL for a week. I’m impressed by her dedication and also glad that I dont have to go with her. Her friend decided to go.
