At the Summit

Taking a couple of days off from blogging about the meaning of life.  I’ll come back to it this weekend, but today I’m headed with about 25 people from the Northwest Church to Westminster Chapel over in Bellevue for the Willow Creek Leadership Summit.  I’m excited.  It will be a shot in the arm I really need.  Two years ago, in August, I was at the Summit, and it really challenged me to step up and put my leadership skills to work.  Little did I know how much I would need them a couple of months later.   In October, I received the call the take the Interim Preaching Minister position at Northwest.

This year, I’m looking for some direction for both the short term and the long term.  The transition at Northwest is here–Chris Goldman begins his ministry here this month, though he won’t preach until September 6th.  I go into rehearsal for Taproot Theatre’s Enchanted April August 24th, and throughout this month, I will be making adjustments to schedule and planning in order to ensure continuity.  With so many from NW going to the Leadership Summit–and Goldman is attending a satellite feed in California–I look for significant growth among the leaders, and that’s exciting as well.

Look for lots of tweets over the next couple of days.

Lots worth sharing…
